Feel supported and encouraged as a writer
‘I did another writing workshop in April and came away feeling like I was not a writer and was wasting my time. Sarah and Kathryn’s workshop produced the opposite outcome for me. I felt supported and developed as a writer. I came away with a process and a picture of myself as a writer, able to express myself in a meaningful way. I am inspired to write every day and am amazed at what unfolds from within me.’
- Vicky Nott.
Sarah will use her experience as a journalist and author of fiction to offer you powerful techniques to free your writing and unlock your imagination. This retreat is for all writers (including the closet writers!) whether you dream of being published or simply enjoy writing as a form of self-expression. Have fun and play with writing in the company of like-minded others.
Experienced yoga teacher Kathryn Riding will lead gentle classes of restorative, rejuvenating yoga. You will explore the way that yoga can drop you into deep connection with your imagination and free flowing creativity. The classes will be suitable for the absolute beginner as well as the regular yoga practitioner. Small classes allow for individual attention to each person's needs.
Sarah is a passionate student of yoga and believes that yoga is a bridge between our inner and outer worlds, allowing us to drop more easily into our creative unconscious. Just as you stretch and limber your body at this weekend workshop, you will loosen restrictions on your writing. Yoga, deep relaxation and focused writing techniques will help you by-pass the internal critic and unleash your natural and spontaneous creativity. Let the yoga practice heighten your senses and awareness of emotions, your body and the world around you - all valuable resources for a writer.
Feedback"I walked away from the weekend feeling like the dream of being a writer was no longer beyond my grasp, and better still I had broken through more of the layers that keep us from accessing the essence of who we are and the rich and complex stories that are held there."
- Chelle Wallace
"I went to the workshop nervous and had writers block before starting! However, Sarah's lovely approach and Kathryn's gentle yoga soon melted away any anxiety I had. The whole workshop had such a safe and nurturing feeling to it without pressure, judgement or criticism which made it a joy to be there and share with some incredible people. Even if you don't have any writing ambitions, this workshop is worth doing!"
- Debby Levering
"Sarah and Kathryn created a wonderfully relaxed, supportive environment which encouraged my creativity to blossom and removed any apprehension I felt about sharing my writing with others. In fact the positive feedback from the group gave me a greater understanding of and respect for my own individual writing style."

"Fan-bloody-tastic and not only for writers! I think any creative person would benefit from Sarah's guidance. The workshop was like a day spa for my brain."
- Sue Paget
"After returning from an extraordinary life in Arnhem Land, Sarah’s workshop provided a space for me to assimilate back into this world. Sarah's calm presence and inspirational teaching gave me insight, confidence and very specific direction for my writing. I am passionate about continuing and the yoga created perfect balance, nourishment and support, enabling flow for our creativity."
